Just a quick note to let you know I am still out here.  I was again considering shutting down my site.  Then someone sent an order to me for a tag.  That really boosted my spirits and I decided to stay on.  I even made 5 new letters which are on my seasonal page now.  Please have a look.

  I also put two new tags on there and they are free.  I will keep the seasonal tags free for the time being.  If you would like one just write me.

I know I am TERRIBLE about writing in this blog.  I noticed some comments were here that I had never seen.  I don’t seem to get notified when they are there.  So, if I never answered you I am sorry.

  I have not sent out a newsletter from my site for a few months.  I really wasn’t sure if anyone cared to visit any more.  I have not made any new letters but I hope to get back in the swing this summer.  I have not dismantled my site and do not plan to do that at the moment. 

  I hope all of you are well out there.  We are just starting to get a bit of spring here in Michigan.

Well, better late than never, right?  I finally went just now and changed my theme on my site to a snowman.  I guess the duck in the bikini was a little inappropriate at this time of year.  Then I thought, oh what the heck, I’ll pop over to my blog and change that too.  What better way to push myself into writing.

Oh My, it’s been way too long since I’ve written.  So sorry.

  It is summer now here in Michigan and I’ve been enjoying it quite a bit.  I love sitting on my deck and reading.  I tackled the classic, Anna Karenina this summer.  It was pretty good but some parts bored me.  Still I am glad I read it.

  I hope to stop in here more often.  If you go to my site for Incredimail letters, I am proud to tell you that there are MANY new letters on there.  Have a look.

My niece has a shih tzu puppy.  I have a 10 year old schnauzer.  They are not often together but they were this weekend.  My niece went on vacation and my mom was baby sitting the shih tzu.  We “people” wanted to have dinner together so the pup was brought over.  I would say they tolerate each other at best.  Here is a picture of Auntie Car (me) with the “kids”. 

Let’s hope that this is true.  Here in Michigan we are having a thaw this weekend.  Right now it is sunny and about 45°.  To us that is a heat wave!!  All the snow and ice are melting.  We are supposed to have several more days of this and then it might look like spring is on it’s way.

  I just returned from a trip to Florida.  It was beautiful there.  I hadn’t been there in many, many years.  I went for my cousin’s wedding.  We had a great time.  It was great to see so many of my cousins.  In fact, there were 10 of us at the wedding out of 12.  Some I had not seen in 30 years.  Hard to believe.  It’s great to get the family together for a happy occasion.

  Martine wrote a comment in my blog today and told me it had been a month since I had written in here.  Time just seems to get away from me.  I’ll try to write more often.

Cold is an understatement around here lately.  I live in Michigan and we are having an arctic blast lately.  The last two days have started out with a whopping 0° in the morning and we’re lucky if we reach above 10.  Most of the schools in the area have closed the last two days.  It is bitter cold out for the kids to have to stand around waiting for buses.  This doesn’t happen often.  In fact, I taught for 35 yrs. and the last time I remember this happening was in 1976 or 1977.  We often close for too much snow but not often for it being too cold.

  I am scheduled to substitute tomorrow so we’ll see if school will be held or not.  Stay warm and have a nice day.

I have been substitute teaching all week for my friend.  Her husband had surgery so she had to be out a lot.  It sure is hard going in every day after being retired.  I can’t believe how long this week has felt and I still have one day to go.  In fact, I didn’t even work Monday because they had the day off.  It’s just very hard getting up and going.  But I am settling in nicely with the students and the routine.

  Winter has also arrived here in Michigan.  Yesterday morning I peeked out at the thermometer and it was only around 15°.  We have had a VERY MILD winter and this was kind of a shock.  Hopefully it will go by quickly.

We are having quite a nasty day here in Michigan today.  It started out raining but now little ice balls are falling on my deck.  There is a bit of ice on the deck steps but not any on the side walks.  This really terrifies me these days after my fall on the deck steps last Christmas eve.  I think this may be a nice day to stay indoors and watch tv and read. 

  We have had a very mild winter so far and when this stuff shows up it seems to surprise us.  I have lived in Michigan all my life and should be used to our crazy weather.
